During summer 2006 Monarch Airlines charter flights recorded their worst year on record for punctuality since we began analysing data in 2001.

The average Monarch Airlines charter flight operated over 40 minutes behind schedule during the season, with 1 in 6 flights delayed over an hour, leaving the airline second to bottom in the summer delay league table.

Monarch charter flights at Edinburgh and Birmingham airports had the best punctuality during the season to date, with an average delay of 16 minutes and 22 minutes respectively.

Monarch charter flights at London Stansted, Manchester, London Gatwick and Glasgow had poorer timekeeping, while flights at London Luton and Newcastle had the worst punctuality with average delays of over an hour.

At Newcastle in particular, where Monarch charter flights exclusively consisted of long-haul services to the Dominican Republic and Florida, more than half of all flights operated over an hour late, with only 26 of the 150 flights analysed managing to operate on time.
