Monarch charter flights were delayed by an average of 27 minutes during the summer 2007 season, with 62% on-time performance.

This represents a significant improvement in timekeeping for the airline, such punctuality having not been seen for Monarch charter flights since summer 2003.

Good punctuality was seen at Edinburgh and Birmingham airports, with above-average punctuality at London Luton, London Stansted and Glasgow, while delays at Newcastle, London Gatwick and Manchester were higher, adversely affecting the overall average delay for the airline.

Monarch charter flights recorded a high average delay of nearly 46 minutes during the winter 2006 / 07 season, the poorest winter punctuality recorded for the airline since we began analysing records in 2002.

Punctuality was good at Birmingham but other UK reporting airports had poorer timekeeping, London Gatwick and Manchester in particular where the average Monarch charter flight was delayed by around 50 minutes and in the case of Gatwick 1 in 5 flights operated over an hour late.
