Thomas Cook Airlines charter flights were delayed by an average of 17 minutes during the summer 2015 season, with 76% on-time performance and around 1 in 16 flights delayed by over an hour.

This represents the best punctuality performance for the airline for a summer season for over 10 years, although many Thomas Cook flights are now operated as scheduled services, which are analysed separately.

For the summer 2015 league table, this performance put the airline narrowly in second position to Thomson Airways based on average delay, though Thomas Cook flights had significantly better on-time performance by over five percentage points, their average delay being adversely affected by a higher proportion of long delays, particularly those in excess of three hours which were almost twice as common for Thomas Cook compared with Thomson during the summer 2015 season.

There was significant disparity for Thomas Cook timekeeping across UK airports during the season, with flights at Aberdeen, Belfast, Bristol and Doncaster all achieving average delays of less than 10 minutes, while at the other end of the table flights at Gatwick, Glasgow, Stansted and Manchester suffered the longest delays of between 19 and 21 minutes on average.

Nearly 1 in 10 Thomas Cook flights at Manchester (home base for the airline) operated over an hour late, while on-time performance was poorest at Gatwick - 70%, a stark contrast with Aberdeen and Belfast where around 90% OTP was recorded.
