Thomson Airways charter flight punctuality reduced slightly during 2014 compared with the previous year, the average delay increasing from 14 minutes to 16 minutes and on-time performance falling by 5 percentage points to 74%.

Compared to the UK charter flight average, Thomson Airways charter flights had a better punctuality profile across all categories during 2014.

Thomson Airways achieved first position as the most punctual UK charter airline for the seventh consecutive summer season in summer 2014, recording an average delay of 16 minutes, an on-time performance rate of 74% and only 1 in 20 flights delayed by over an hour.

The best performance for the airline was at London Stansted, Newcastle and Birmingham airports, with average delays of around 10 minutes and better than 80% on-time performance levels.

Edinburgh, Glasgow and London Luton followed with close to average punctuality for the carrier, while the longest delays were seen at the largest bases - Manchester (17.5 minutes) and London Gatwick (19.3 minutes).

Thomson Airways was the most punctual UK charter airline during the winter 2013 / 14 season, with an average delay of 15 minutes and 76% on-time performance recorded.

Flights at London Stansted, Edinburgh and Newcastle had the best timekeeping with average delays of less than 10 minutes at and on-time performance levels of 86% to 89%.

Flights at Glasgow and London Luton also had very good punctuality, with those at Manchester and Birmingham recording close to average delays for the airline.

The longest delays for Thomson charter flights were London Gatwick, where the average flight was held up by 21 minutes and around 69% on-time performance was achieved during the season.
