Aer Lingus retained top position in our February 2012 Latest OTP Stats
update for the largest UK & Ireland airlines, with 90.7% OTP (nearly 10 percentage points better than the UK average). Once again Monarch Scheduled flights fell well behind at the bottom of the rankings with just 60.7% OTP for the month (more than 20 percentage points poorer than average).
For the year to date, BA CityFlyer retained first position among the nine airlines analysed, with 86.4% OTP over the year to 29 February 2012, 5.7 percentage points above the UK average. Flybe and Aer Lingus nudged into second and third positions repectively, knocking Ryanair into fourth, though all had very similar OTP for the year with Ryanair being let down by a relatively poor February.
Once again the charter airline rankings remained steady with Thomson well ahead on OTP for both the month of February and the year to date. Thomas Cook continued to perform close to the charter average while Monarch Charter flights performed very poorly in February, with only half of all flights analysed operating within 15 minutes of their scheduled time.
