BA CityFlyer returned to the top of the Latest OTP ranking
for June 2012, while an unprecedented 45% of Monarch Scheduled flights operated late.
BA CityFlyer flights had a big lead in OTP at 86.3%, with Ryanair (84.1%) and easyJet (82.4%) in second and third positions respectively knocking Aer Lingus into fourth position for the month with 79.9%.
For the sixth consecutive month Monarch scheduled flights had the worst OTP score of the nine UK airlines we analyse, operating only 55.0% of their services on time during June 2012, some 20 percentage points poorer than the average of all scheduled flights at UK reporting airports and the worst performance seen by the airline this year.
Overall charter flight punctuality maintained a reasonable 74.2% OTP average for the month, around three percentage points higher than the 3-year June average, airline rankings remaining unchanged with Thomson Airways holding first position with 80.9% OTP over Thomas Cook (69.5%) and Monarch charter flights (53.4%).
