Aer Lingus took first position as the most punctual of the largest UK & Ireland scheduled airlines for September 2012 with 90.7% on-time performance (OTP) recorded, a slight lead over BA CityFlyer with 89.7% OTP in the Latest OTP table.

Despite the change in monthly ranking, BA CityFlyer retained the lead in the year to date ranking with 87.2% OTP, some 7.1 percentage points ahead of the UK scheduled average but just 0.3 percentage points ahead of Aer Lingus.

For the month of September rankings also switched for low-cost airlines easyJet and Ryanair, the latter taking third position with 86.3% OTP while easyJet slipped behind slightly with 84.0%. Monarch scheduled flights had the poorest timekeeping with less than 63% OTP, some 18 percentage points less than the UK average, a position held since the start of 2012, for nine consecutive months.

UK Charter airline rankings were unchanged with Thomson Airways achieving first position once again in September with 80.0% OTP, followed by Thomas Cook Airlines (69.4%) and Monarch Airlines charter flights (68.3%), with the same ranking evident in the year to date statistics.
