Virgin Atlantic and Aer Lingus followed with OTP levels of 80.7% and 80.2% respectively for the month, while at the bottom of the league table British Airways, easyJet and Monarch Scheduled flights had the worst timekeeping, all three carriers recording sub-70% on-time performance.
For the rolling year to 31 August 2014, bmi regional (89.3%) held a marginal lead over BA CityFlyer (89.0%), followed by flybe following in third with 83.4% OTP. At the other end of the table, the poorest performance for the 12-month period was recorded for Monarch Scheduled flights at 74.6%, and for British Airways at 74.8%.
In the charter flight analysis for August 2014, Thomas Cook Airlines took a significant lead with 75.9% on-time performance, relegating Thomson Airways into second position with 69.8% and Monarch Airlines charter flights finishing third with just 58.8%.
The rolling year to 31 August statistics for charter flights also saw Thomas Cook take the lead with 76.1% OTP, Thomson Airways following with 75.2%. Monarch charter flights remained the least punctual for the 12-month period with 65.9% OTP.
