bmi regional retained the lead of the OTP league table for March 2015 at 24 UK Reporting Airports, with 89.4% of flights operating on time, followed by BA CityFlyer (86.9%) and Virgin Atlantic (85.8%).

Aer Lingus, Aer Lingus Regional and Monarch Scheduled followed with above-average OTP levels, exceeding the UK scheduled flight OTP average by three to four percentage points.

Loganair and British Airways were at the bottom of the league table for March, with respective OTP levels of 73.2% and 79.1%.

For the rolling year to 31 March 2015 there was no change in the ranking, with BA CityFlyer in first position recording 87.7% OTP, 10 percentage points better than the UK average during the period. bmi regional were in second place for the year with 86.0% OTP, while at the other end of the table British Airways and Monarch Scheduled were the only two of the analysed airlines falling significantly below the UK OTP average for the period, with 74.9% and 76.6% OTP respectively for the two carriers.

Charter flight OTP levels saw a significant improvement in March 2015 compared with the previous month at 77.3%. Thomson Airways moved into top position with 79.7% OTP for the month, followed by Thomas Cook Airlines flights which achieved 76.9% OTP. Monarch charter flights had the poorest timekeeping with 74.1% operating on time during the month.

For the rolling year to 31 March 2015 the charter airline rankings were the same, with Thomas Cook (75.8% OTP) leading over Thomson Airways (74.0%) and Monarch charter flights (67.1%).

As a reminder, from January 2015 data the monthly OTP league table published has analysed punctuality data at 24 UK Reporting Airports, an increase of 14 new analysis points compared with previous datasets, and which effectively provides almost complete national coverage.

As a result we added three UK & Ireland scheduled airlines to our analysis group from January 2015; Aer Lingus Regional, Eastern Airways and Loganair. Data for all three carriers is now included in the monthly Latest OTP table, and can be seen above.
