Scheduled flight on-time performance at UK Reporting Airports
fell slightly during the final month of 2015, from 77.4% in November to 76.5% in December, though this was 3.7 percentage points better than the 3-year December average.
Low cost carrier flybe achieved top position in our league table of UK & Ireland airline on-time performance during the month with an on-time performance rate of 83.2% recorded, nearly seven percentage points better than the UK average. Good OTP levels were also recorded by Aer Lingus (82.2%), BA CityFlyer (82.0%) and bmi regional (81.8%) during December.

British Airways finished the month in 5th position, climbing six places in the league table compared with November 2015, and recording their second highest monthly OTP level of the year at 80.0%.
December 2015 was a relatively poor punctuality month for easyJet, despite improvements in the previous two months their OTP dropped from 78.9% in November to 70.6% in December.
For the full year 2015, BA CityFlyer and bmi regional both achieved 84.6% OTP, followed by Aer Lingus Regional with 81.7% and flybe with 81.5%. The overall OTP level for easyJet flights for the full year 2015 was 71.6%, by far the lowest level among the 13 airlines analysed and around five percentage points poorer than the UK average.
Charter flight on-time performance declined sharply between November and December 2015, falling by nine percentage points to just 62.8%, the lowest monthly level recorded during the year.
Despite historically poor charter flight punctuality ay UK airports during the month of December, the December 2015 level still fell two percentage points below the 3-year average for the month.
For the two analysed charter carriers, Thomas Cook Airlines returned to top position during the month of December with 67.7% OTP - significantly ahead of Thomson Airways flights which achieved just 61.1% OTP.
For the year ending 31 December 2015 the charter airline rankings also saw Thomas Cook (76.4% OTP) leading over Thomson Airways (71.7% OTP).
